The definition of wine says that it is an alcoholic beverage obtained by the fermentation process that occurs in grape juice, or grape must under the influence of yeast. Alcoholic beverages called wines are also made from other fruits and also rice.
There are plenty wine types and styles in the world, and in most countries they are properly ordered. However, in a short way, we can say that wines are divided mostly due to colour: white, rosé and red and you can also meet the term "yellow", which refers to wines from the French Jura, and so-called green wines from the Portuguese Vinho appellation Verde. However, in both last cases this does not apply to their color. Due to the sugar content, wines can be divided into: dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet and sweet.
Depending on the country and the legislation in force, the quality gradation of wines varies and is more or less sanctioned. The most common division is (from the lowest grade): table wine (e.g. French Vin de Table), regional (e.g. French Vin de Pays, Italian IGT), with a mark of origin (e.g. Spanish D.O.) and guaranteed A.O.C, D.O.C. or D.O.C.G. - depending on the country
Wine probably comes from the lands of today's Caucasus. Over the centuries, viticulture spread around the world, and its consumption began to penetrate deep into the traditions and culture of many nations. Undeniably, it is one of the most popular alcoholic beverages produced in most countries. Due to its wonderful properties such as aromas and flavors, it is a perfect complement to meals. It is eagerly used in national and regional cuisines. Often wine is also chosen just for the pleasure of sipping it.
