Opihr

Opihr is an ancient, legendary, rich region that was once - most likely - in the East along the Ancient Spice Route. According to the Bible (the First Book of Kings), King Solomon himself mined gold there and he also stocked up on oriental spices.

On the basis of the above story, the Opihr Oriental Spiced Gin was created, awarded, with a gold medal at the World Spirits Competition in San Francisco in the year 2015. Its recipe was developed by the world's first woman working as a Master Gin Distiller. The aforementioned recipe is based primarily on hand-picked oriental spices, including coriander from Morocco, spicy cubeb pepper from Indonesia, and black Tellicher pepper and cardamom from India. Distillation takes place in Warrington on the West Bank of England, in G&J Distillers existing since the year 1761, which also produces other gins - Greenall's, Bloom, Thomas Dakin and Berkeley Square.

In addition to the classic version, Opihr is produced in three other editions: European Aromatic Bitters (with the addition of myrrh and cascarilla bark), Arabian (with the addition of black Persian lemons and Timut peppers) and the Far East (with the addition of Sechuan pepper and Ajowan cumin). A Ready-to-drink collection was also created, including three versions of ready-made gin and tonic: classic, with the addition of ginger or a hint of orange.

G&J Distillers, the producer of Opihr gin, is a subsidiary of the Quintessential Brands Group, existing since the year 2011, operating in the spirit industry. In addition to G&J Distillers' gins, the group's portfolio also includes Irish whiskey and creams as well as French liqueurs.
