Marques de Careces

In 1970, Enrique Forner founded the company Marques de Careces, Union Vitivinivola S.A. being a historic alliance: the region of Cenicero, La Eioja Alta, an enterprising family that has been devoted to passion for wine trade for five generations, the best growers and the best vineyards in La Rioja and Bordeaux.

Enrique Forner decided to use the knowledge and experience acquired mainly in Bordeaux in Spain, which was known to be a bit bizzare at the time. The aim was to create the best possible conditions for the production and aging of wines. Enologists from Marques de Careces, control the cultivation throughout the year and analyze the grapes a few weeks before the start of the harvest and make their decisions depending on the degree of maturity of the fruit.

The Marques de Careces winery is located in the village of Cenicero, 20 km from Logrono in the Rioja Alta. The climatic conditions that prevail there make quite strong, intense, well-structured and balanced wines. Marques de Caracas is now synonymous with progress and modernity, combined with the knowledge and experience that make the company stand out on the wine map of Spain.

The Marques De Careces concept has revolutionized the business model and production with one goal of increasing quality. Getting the best wines is still the leitmotif of Cristina Forner, representative of the fifth generation of the wine family.
